Will the intersection of St. Andrews and Carolina Beach Road be changed?

Q. Are there plans to change the intersection at Carolina Beach Road and St. Andrews Drive so that people coming out of St. Andrews can’t turn left onto Carolina Beach Road? (Like the way they changed the one in front of the elementary school at Echo Farms.)

A. “There are future plans to modify the intersection so that left turns would not be allowed from the side street,” said Katherine Hite, N.C. Division of Transportation Division 3 traffic engineer,

With funding for many planned highway projects up in the air, Hite said a date to modify the intersection has not been set.

“I do not know when the construction may take place,” she said.
