The completion date for the contract is late November, said Wayne Currie, N.C. Department of Transportation Division 3 resident construction engineer.
There will be no paving on U.S. 17 until the week of July 9 due to holiday restrictions, Currie [Map this] said.
The work had been scheduled to begin in late June, but was delayed until after the Fourth of July “instead of starting and not finishing prior to the holidays,” Currie said.
“We did not want to leave a drop-off between the paved and unpaved lanes over the holiday week,” he said.
