Q. Who is responsible for the care of sewer housings on active roads? Mallard Crossing and Highgrove Place in New Hanover County, used by schoolbuses and cars daily, has an exposed housing due to a large cavity in the road.
A. Cape Fear Public Utility Authority personnel took a look at the areas referred to in the question, CFPUA spokeswoman Carey Disney Ricks said.
“It is not a ‘sewer housing,’” Ricks said.
Ricks said that according to CFPUA personnel, “The cavities in the road are beside some survey monument lids. There is no issue with our system there.”
