Why are there two Quail Woods subdivisions? Isn’t that a little confusing for home buyers?

Sam Burgess, subdivision review planner for New Hanover County, said that the Quail Woods subdivision off of Greenville Loop Road was established in the 1970’s as a small residential area.

The other was established in the late 1980’s, early 1990’s as a sub-plan to Coastal Carolina Development.

“The Quail Woods (in 28411) has always been called Quail Woods, Coastal Carolina Development, in hopes that people would see the difference between the two developments,” said Burgess.

While the names may be confusing to some home buyers, it has never been an issue for the 911 center, which has been able to differentiate between the two by ZIP code.
