Q. What business will be in the new building being built on airport property? It is visible from Blue Clay Road and has a new retention pond.
A. It’s not going to be a business.
The building under construction on the Wilmington International Airport property is the future Veteran Affairs Wilmington Multi-Specialty Clinic.
Once opened, the clinic will provide veterans with a primary care facility and also house a mental health services clinic, according to a press release from Robin DeMark, a Veterans Affairs public information officer. Specialty care and day surgery services will also be available.
Ground breaking at the 85,000-square-foot center was held last year, and the project is estimated to be completed in late 2012 or early 2013.
