Neither the Hammerheads nor the Sharks responded to email requests about this. And Amy Beatty, who heads up the City Parks and Recreation Department, which manages the Legion Stadium Complex, did not return three calls made to her.
But according to minutes from Wilmington City Council meetings in 2011, the Wilmington Sharks accepted a five-year lease agreement extension for $475 per game in 2012 and 2013 and it increases to $525 in 2014 and 2015 and to $575 in 2016.
The Wilmington Hammerheads accepted a three-year deal in February of last year to pay $850 per game.
