“Because we don’t have room for 24,” said Frank Taylor, operations director of GoGas Inc.
Taylor said GoGas stations in Swansboro and Burgaw do have 24 machines to keep up with demand. He said the stations often sell out of product because of their discounted rate ($1 for a 20-ounce drink). At the Wrightsville Avenue/College Road store, the machines are: seven Pepsi, one Aquafina, one Gatorade, nine Cokes.
The stations are serviced two to three times per week, Taylor said, but some brands still sell out if he doesn’t have a large bank of machines.
“We really need that number of machines to keep them stocked,” Taylor said.
And Taylor also acknowledged that the glowing bank of machines helps catch the eyes of passing motorists.
“It does look good at night, doesn’t it?” he said. “I’m pleased with the way it turned out.”

Someone needs to tell GoGas how eccentric and wasteful it looks to have 18 power swilling vending machines at its locations.
