Why weren’t trees planted on the new Waltmoor Road median?

Ken Little

The island at Waltmoor and Wickford roads has two Crepe Myrtle trees planted within it.

“The island was completed in the summer. I think the landscaping contractor installed the trees in either July or August of this year,” city engineer Bill McDow said in 2011.

Improvements to the traffic island were part of the city of Wilmington’s Pine Valley East Project.
