Where can you recycle oyster shells in the Wilmington area?

According to the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources Division of Marine Fisheries, oyster shells can be dropped off for recycling at the following locations in New Hanover County:

Carolina Beach:

B & B Bait and Tackle and Seafood, 1301 Bridge Barrier Road, Carolina Beach [Map this].

Blackburn’s Seafood Market, 440 N. Lake Park Blvd., Carolina Beach [Map this].

Carolina Beach State Park, Bridge Barrier Road, Carolina Beach.

Fort Fisher:

Fort Fisher State Park, 1000 Loggerhead Road, Kure Beach [Map this].


Airlie Gardens, 300 Airlie Road, Wilmington [Map this].

Eagle Island Seafood and Produce, 2500 U.S. 421 N., Wilmington [Map this].
