It's best to call the Leland town hall to determine who maintains streets and roads.

Street maintenance can be as confusing as the town limits within Leland, said Carol Ann Floyd, town clerk.

She said the town maintains a database at the town hall listing which road is privately owned or maintained by the city.

For example, along Birch Creek Road, certain streets receive maintenance from the towns of Leland or Belville, while others are maintained by residents.

Town officials said specific questions should be referred to them at the Leland’s main number (910) 371-0148.
