The Orton Plantation house is a 19th century restoration project being undertaken by a number of companies, according to spokesman Mark Hubbard.

Fairfax & Sammons, an architectural firm; local historian Davyd Foard Hood; and landscape architectural firm Page/Duke Landscape Architects are working to develop the design concept to recreate the plantation house, he said.

He said the goal is to give it an historic feeling when restored.
