It could be, especially if you are driving.
“You can have them, but they cannot be illuminated while under way,” said Sgt. Jerry Brewer, the public information officer for the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
Furthermore, the lights cannot be red or blue, as it could confuse drivers that an emergency vehicle is approaching, Brewer said.
“If they had it parked and turned them on, that’s one thing,” Brewer said. “Even then, it’s going to be officer discretion.”
