New Hanover County Parks, Gardens and Senior Resources department still plans to build a park for the Wrightsboro area, but it’s not first on a list of parks projects.
The county opened its latest park – Smith Creek Park – Nov. 2, 2011, and the next project is renovating Arrowhead Park, which will include a disc golf course and other amenities.
Then, county parks staff will move forward with building a park in Wrightsboro, said Jim McDaniel, director for the parks department.
He said staff members are finalizing drawings and will accept bids in the spring from contractors interested in building the project.
