Here’s the answer from Van Denton, director of communications for the N.C. Education Lottery:
“We want the best set of games we can have for folks in North Carolina who enjoy playing the lottery so we are constantly discussing new games. We also know that different players like different kind of games. Some folks enjoy instant scratch-off tickets while others only want a chance to win big jackpots in our draw games.
“At this time, there are no serious discussions about a Pick 6-type game for the N.C. Education Lottery. In February, we launched an afternoon drawing for our Carolina Pick 4 game and added a Sunday afternoon drawing for our Pick 3 game.
“Our jackpot games also feature two multi-state games, Powerball and Mega Millions, where a player who matches six numbers wins the jackpot. We just had a Greenville, N.C., family split a $114 million Mega Millions jackpot with a ticket sold in California.
“Folks who have ideas for new games or comments on the games we have now can share those with us by e-mailing their comments to playerinfo@lotterync.net.”
