The water tower at Lord Byron and Fitzgerald Drives in the Kings Grant neighborhood of New Hanover County is no longer in service and is scheduled to be dismantled, said Carey Disney Ricks, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority spokeswoman.
“However, it has not been identified as a critical project and therefore remains unfunded. CFPUA hopes to obtain new prices for the demolition work this year and proceed with demolition once funded,” Ricks said.
The water tower was declared surplus property by CFPUA two years ago, she said.
