The question concerns concrete debris left over from the road construction on Independence Boulevard.
The contractor is Barnhill Contracting Co.
“The contractor will be cleaning this area up as soon as they finish the removal of the dirt,” city of Wilmington spokeswoman Malissa Talbert said.
The piles of dirt are left over from the Independence Boulevard widening project that was recently completed.
“The city is looking for other projects that we might be able to use the fill dirt, which could save money on upcoming jobs. There is not yet a time frame for removing the dirt, but that is currently being evaluated,” Talbert said in March.
