The work is expected to be completed by late fall of 2011.

City of Wilmington spokeswoman Malissa Talbert said that the project will begin on June 13, 2011, but the road will not be closed on that day.

The work is expected to be completed by late fall of 2011, Talbert said.

“There will be intermittent one-lane closures, but full road closures will be minimized as much as possible. Any full closures will be announced in advance if at all possible,” she said.

The city will hold an open house about the project from 5 to 7 p.m. June 16, 2011, at the Masonboro Fire Station, 3335 Masonboro Loop Road, Wilmington [Map this], “to provide interested citizens with more information,” Talbert said.

For more information, go to a city web page about the project.
