Age isn't a factor in vehicle registration, but a state driver's license or ID is needed.

“A vehicle can be titled in anyone’s name. There is no age limit, young or old,” said Marge Howell, spokeswoman for the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles.

However, Howell added that to register a vehicle, an individual must have a North Carolina driver’s license or identification card, and the vehicle must be insured.
