If you’re searching for an international flight out of Wilmington International Airport, you’re going to come up empty.
But that doesn’t mean the airport doesn’t have international flights.
General aviation flights such as corporate flights sometimes come in from international destinations, mainly South and Central America or the Caribbean, according to airport employees.
The airport also serves as a designated airport for clearing U.S. Customs from a foreign location and has a separate terminal for international departures that features a federal inspection station.
Some of those planes that stop have Wilmington as a destination, but many also are required to stop for customs as they re-enter the U.S.

And whatever happened to the flights that were going to Bermuda? Any chance we’ll see them in the future?
Bermuda? Ha! That was so never going to happen. The day the cream of Wilmington was sitting down to a big expensive lunch (that I’d like to know who paid for) for the announcement, I was offering bets all around that it was a scam and would never happen. They all thought I was a cynic and just couldn’t appreciate the fabulous opportunity. If I could have collected on those bets, I’d be retired now.
