The husband and wife singing to the tune of “Afternoon Delight” by Starland Vocal Band in the commercial are Chris Rosser and Lynn Rosser of Asheville, said Ryan Kennemur, public information officer with the N.C. Education Lottery. The commercial advertises the afternoon and night drawings for the lottery’s Pick 3 and Pick 4 games.
Singer, songwriter and musician Chris Rosser regularly performs throughout North Carolina and neighboring states. In 2009, his song “Make A Wish” was performed on the reality TV series “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
Lynn Rosser, the mother of two special needs children, writes a blog for other parents of special needs children at her The Complete Caregiver website.

This is the worst song and commercial. These people shouldn’t be getting paid to sing anything. They ruined their career by singing this stupid jingle.
Song was always overplayed, but terrific singers and a fun version! Enjoy it as a spoof!
What a sour comment! Perhaps you’re talking about Starland Vocal Band because the Rossers certainly have wonderful careers. Either way – totally un-called-for! Hope your afternoon gets a bit more delightful so you don’t feel like tearing down others for no reason
Ah, come on–lighten up! I see two NC artists getting a chance to make money in a leaky economy–what’s not to love about that? Anybody making a little money in the western part of the state ought to be congratulated for their perseverance and guts.
I’m one of those people who “secretly” LOVES the original Starland Vocal Band version of this song and these musicians do it great justice! Takes lots of talent to provide a customer with just the sound they’re looking for!
Awesome entertainers!!! Great presentation. We all feel so fortunate to have these two very talented individuals in our town. What a great contribution to us; and every heart and ear with whom they share their beauty-full music. Make more music Chris and Lynn! We’re lovin’ it!
Hate the song, not the singers! I love Chris and Lynn Rosser, as songwriters, singers, and musicians.
I absolutely LOVE Chris and Lynn’s singing! Beautiful voices! Whomever said they ruined their careers doesn’t really know them at all.
Whoever those puppet-mouthed characters are, they are not singing and they are not Chris and Lynn Rosser. What you’ve got to do is close your eyes and just listen—it’s a catchy, upbeat song done by two very talented musicians.
Their performance and that song are horrible. As for the question as to who they are to begin with, seems like nothing more than some passive agressive self promotion!
Oh, this made me laugh! Seeing the Rossers as goofy paper cut out people in a commercial is surreal- they are two of the most genuine and loving people I’ve ever known.
And talented doesn’t even BEGIN to cover it. I have yet to play Chris’s Archeology CD to anyone and not have them ask where they can get it. Over a decade later, he’s still writing amazing music (more talented still), but that album is my favorite for the memories it engenders.
Two amazing people in one goofy little commercial.
I just don’t understand some people. Why would anyone feel it necessary to bash other people for making a living when they don’t know anything about the people? And how could someone say the Rossers are self-promoting when they had nothing to do with this article in the first place? I think some people just like to make trouble.
