The Port of Wilmington operates all throughout the day and night depending on when shipments come in, said Shannon Moody, spokeswoman for the port.
“While (shipments) are scheduled, things certainly have a tendency to move around and shift,” she said.
Workers could be unloading ships at night, though it’s tough to estimate what percentage that is of the port’s total business, Moody said.
“We certainly are a 24-7 operation,” she said. “If there is work to be done at night, we will be here.”
