Which Wilmington churches (not Catholic) hold services other than on Sunday?

Amanda Greene

With more than 300 Wilmington churches, that’s sort of a broad question. So including all such services here might be a stretch, but I’ll do my best to include some different worship genres and denominational variety.

In some cities, evangelical nondenominational churches have started adding Saturday night services that typically include more contemporary worship music to accommodate a younger crowd that might like to sleep late on Sunday mornings. Wilmington hasn’t seen much of this lately.

But many Protestant Christian churches have mid-week prayer services, most times on Wednesday nights. A few examples of this are The Sanctuary of Wilmington, The Rock of Wilmington, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Wilmington, and Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Grace United Methodist Church holds a Wednesday Holy Communion service at 12:15 p.m.

Silver Lake Baptist Church has a Wednesday dinner, Bible study and prayer service.

And The Love Factory meets for Bible study on Thursday nights at 7 p.m.

Of course, these are just a sampling of different mid-week worship options in the Wilmington area.
