Which cross-overs will be closed as part of work on South College Road?

Kerry Cross, resident engineer with the N.C. Department of Transportation, said the Weybridge Lane cross-over, which leads into Fox Run Farms, will be closed off.

The new traffic patterns are part of the South College Road Access Management Improvements project, which calls for the closure or conversion of non-signalized median openings along South College Road between Shipyard Boulevard and Carolina Beach Road.

Changes include closing the Tall Tree Lane cross-over and the Weybridge Lane cross-over. The Waltmoor Road-South 17th Street intersection and the Pine Cliff Drive intersection at Cape Fear Academy will keep their traffic signals.

Construction started in February 2011 and should be completed by December 2011, Cross said.
