The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will consider extending service to Bald Eagle Lane during the budget process in the spring, spokeswoman Carey Ricks said. The cost of the project is an estimated $1.3 million. “The authority recognizes that this is an area mostly served by private wells vulnerable to salt water intrusion. The project will be considered with other much needed projects and with consideration of limited funding available,” Ricks stated in an e-mail.
