When is AT&T going to upgrade to the HSPA+ 7.2 cell network in the Wilmington area?

“AT&T has completed our deployment of HSPA+ to virtually 100 percent of our mobile broadband network,” said Crystal Prince, a Washington-based spokeswoman for AT&T.

This is a prelude to 4G service.

“We’re rapidly expanding our ethernet and fiber-to-cell sites nationwide with daily backhaul deployments, but we haven’t disclosed a list of cities” where this will happen, Prince said.

“For AT&T, backhaul refers to the ethernet and fiber-to-cell sites that are deployed,” she explained.

“As 4G devices are launched, we’ll provide details on cities where we’re delivering 4G speeds.” By the end of this year, “we expect nearly two-thirds of mobile broadband traffic will be on expanded backhaul,” Prince said.
