The Mount Misery Road bridge is part of an existing contract to clean and paint bridges in Brunswick County that has a start date of May 2011, N.C. Department of Transportation spokeswoman Tammy Stewart said.
The contract includes the bridge carrying Mount Misery Road over U.S. 74/76 and the two bridges that carry U.S. 74/76 over Village Road and the CSX railroad, Stewart said.
The contractor on the jobs is S&D Industrial Painting, Inc., of Tarpon Springs, Fla.
