On Jan. 1, 2011, Jon David will become the district attorney for North Carolina’s 13th prosecutorial district, which includes Brunswick, Columbus and Bladen counties, according to the Brunswick County District Attorney’s Office.
Buoyed by support in his home county, Jon David squeaked out a victory against Whiteville attorney Harold “Butch” Pope on Nov. 2.
Pope won handily in Columbus and Bladen counties. But in Brunswick County, which has a larger number of voters, David captured nearly 68 percent of the vote.
As an interesting aside, David is the identical twin brother of District Attorney Ben David in neighboring New Hanover County.
