More from the questioner:
“If you’re in the left turning lane on U.S. 117 facing north at the U.S. 117/N.C. 210 intersection in Rocky Point, the lanes on N.C. 210 facing east (on the Food Lion side) are way too far into the intersection to make a proper left turn. Can this be corrected?”
The answer:
The fix to this issue may come down to the dotted line.
N.C. Department of Transportation officials have put a traffic services supervisor on the case. This person, whose duties include overseeing paint striping on roadways, is studying whether an adjustment can made, according to Robert Vause, a DOT district engineer.
We’ll keep you posted on a final answer.
