Does Time Warner Cable offer discounts for senior citizens or others?

Jim Ware
StarNews

Time Warner Cable in Wilmington doesn’t provide discounts for senior citizens or any other groups, said Andi Curtis, media relations representative for the company’s Fayetteville/Wilmington region.

“Our discounts are in our promotions,” Curtis said.

“We try to have a product that fits everybody’s budget,” she said.

An example she gave is the company’s Road Runner Internet service, which offers customers services scaled to their needs and budgets. At the top is Road Runner Turbo with Power Boost. At the bottom is Road Runner Lite.

They don’t give discounts to anyone. Not even people who have been with them for at least 15 years.

If Time Warner Cable was smart, they would let subscribers choose the channels they want to
watch, not those we don’t care about.

I bet most of their employees get discounts. If anything Time-Warner slowly keeps increasing your prices, a fraction of a cent each month until your biil gets higher and you can’t afford it.

Charter did the same thing to me, but all of their employees gets free cable tv and free internet, they jsut have to pay the taxes on it each month. Meanwhile, I’m sitting here with a bill that keeps getting higher and higher.

To heck with cable, thats why I went with DirecTV. I get all kinds of deals through them all them time.

Time Warner Cable certainly does not give discounts to low income customers. And their “promotions” aren’t any help either. They are not low enough in price and the company will call you at the end of the promotion period and try to get you to go to a higher price package. Who wants that bother? If they are going to give a lower price, then give it and let the customer notify them if they want a higher priced package.

People tend to forget that you dont *need* cable TV or Satellite TV.

Electric, gas, water. those are bills you need.

HBO, CNN, Bravo channels are not really something you can’t live without.

It would be good if you could pick channels. I do not watch sports but i still have to pay for a lot of espn. it seems like if you want any channel you get another sports channel with it. I think that advertisers should note they are paying for numbers that are not even close to accurate.
