What is the story with French’s Classic Burgers on Carolina Beach Road?

Judy Royal

French’s Classic Burgers, 6142 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington [Map this], is open for dine-in or drive-through-window service 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It’s closed on Sunday.

Here is a link to a Budget Bites post I did about it a year ago.

I think the story that the user is referring to is the conservative Republican signs posted at French’s Classic Burgers. WECT just did a story in which the owner said he didn’t mind if he lost customers, he was more concerned with “losing the country.” Glad he doesn’t mind losing customers, because as good as the food is, I will never patronize his establishment again. I find the owner’s personal politics and public signs extremely distasteful. Other people must feel the same way, since the parking lot there is almost always empty.

Quite frankly – I’m glad he puts those messages on his signs, at least someone is not afraid to speak out and not bow down to the dollar.

I like that he posts the signs – lets me know someone is paying attention to the state of the union and is speaking up … way2go!!!

Not that I really needed the additional incentive – French’s cheeseburgers and fries are some of the best in the Wilmington area, well worth the drive – but “George”s remarks make it imperative that I give French’s some additional business. A clear-headed patriotic attitude like the owner/operator’s should be rewarded whenever possible.

    Thanks for the incentive, “George”!
