How does one convince the N.C. DOT to collect left-behind road work signs?

Signs are removed when a project is completed, said N.C. Department of Transportation spokeswoman Jennifer Garifo.

“In this particular instance, although the roundabout is operational and traffic is using it, there is still some additional widening to be done in the area from Middle Sound Loop Road to Darden Road,” Garifo said.

The work is scheduled to take place over the weekends of Oct. 3 and Oct. 10, 2010, weather permitting, Garifo said.
