A reader writes that his former roommate moved out, leaving behind a large, stolen “slippery when wet” street sign.
The stolen street sign can be returned to the New Hanover County Property Management office at 200 Division Drive, Wilmington [Map this].
The office is next to New Hanover County Animal Control and not far from the Wilmington International Airport.
Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

\i remember a Florida case, where one or more teenagers stole a “stop” sign, soon after resulting in a fatal accident at the intersection. Don’t recall their sentence.
in our area, most “slippery” signs are found on metal grate bridges. perhaps the DOT is a possible owner?
