Does the StarNews follow up with the New Hanover County District Attorney’s Office regarding arrest warrants?

Arrest warrants are available for public viewing at the New Hanover County Courthouse. If StarNews reporters receive word of an arrest, they will go to the courthouse and look up an arrest warrant in the clerk’s office. If we need to follow up with the New Hanover County District Attorney’s Office, we will do so.

District Attorney Ben David said his office typically doesn’t send out news releases on an arrest unless it’s a cold case.

“We sometimes make a release saying someone has been arrested for a crime this many years ago,” he said.

People can also find out who has been arrested for a crime by going to Mugshots.StarNewsOnline.com or you can also look up people’s charges if they have been booked at the New Hanover County Jail by going to p2c.nhcgov.com/p2c/jailinmates.aspx.
