Work will apparently begin by the end of the year.
Carl Farmer, city division engineer, says the project is partially funded by the N.C. Department of Transportation, “and the city has had to work through their approval process.”
The city also had to secure additional rights-of-way and coordinate with the relocation of utilities, he adds.
The project should be bid in August, with the bidding and award process taking 90 days, Farmer says.
Construction should take approximately 120 days.
