When is anyone going to pave Front Street between Carolina Beach Road and the Cape Fear Bridge?

The resurfacing of Front Street in Wilmington, from the intersection of Queen Street south to U.S. 421, is part of a larger contract that includes several other projects, says N.C. Department of Transportation spokeswoman Jennifer Garifo.

That’s NCDOT’s way of saying: Be patient.

“The resurfacing work has not started yet, however, the entire contract is scheduled to be done by November,” Garifo says.

this road has been in disrepair for quite sometime.
seems like this side of town has been almost forgotten.
i bet it would be done by now if it were on military cutoff or gordon rd side of town.

i travel that section of roadway daily – keep in mind that nearly all of the large trucks coming to and from the state port travel that road, and cause the majority of the damage. it would seem to me that these multinational global corporations such as Hess that benefit from this specific section of road, should foot the bill for the re-surfacing.
