Why don’t they have bus service at the airport?

Patrick Gannon

Bus service to Wilmington International Airport is in the short-range plan for the Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority, which operates Wave Transit, the Wilmington area’s bus service.

The holdup is primarily funding, said Matthew Kunic, Wave planner.

“It’s essentially an unfunded, planned route,” he said.

Kunic said he didn’t know when funding would become available for that route, but that it could be years from now.

There will probably never be bus service to the airport or any destination that is of convenience for passengers as Wave Transit is not a service of convenience as to this reason is why I saved my funds and purchased my own car as I was not impressed with it taking me a hour to get home from the Mall or other destinations tried using Wave for a number of years got fed up with no benches or shelters standing out in the cold and rain and hot weather waiting on late buses, as Wave has no compassion at all for the elderly, handicapped or the general public in the process of providing transportation service for this city.

I also think that Wave Transit should have a route that connects to Carolina Beach.
