Where can locals learn to scuba dive for a cheaper price than tourists would pay?

PADI SCUBA certification, which is the most popular type of certifications for civilians, is usually a week-long course that involves book instruction as well as pool and open water dives. Prices range from $275 up to about $400.

The SCUBA shops I contacted do not discriminate based on a customer’s home address.

If you’re from out of town and can’t spend a week learning the ups and downs of diving, however, some shops will offer accelerated classes of about three and a half days. But even then prices are pretty reasonable. Aquatic Safari’s accelerated class, for example, costs the same as a week-long class.

Thanks so much for responding to my question. I really appreciate it. My roommate and I have been wanting to learn to scuba dive forever and this summer I think we’re going to actually do it! MyReporter.com is a really ‘nifty website. Thanks again!

Check out my website http://www.wilmingtondiving.com to see what is available to dive off of our coast. Most people are suprised at what is hidden beneath the waves just offshore. You’ll love the diving here!
