An air show scheduled for April 2010 has been cancelled.
“We were supposed to have an air show this year but due to an inability to secure a jet team we decided to postpone until 2011,” says Jon Rosborough, Wilmington International Airport director.
“There are no guarantees that we will be able to secure a jet team in 2011 but we will try,” he continues.
There is “very stiff competition” trying to land the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds for an air show, Rosborough says.
“We are thinking of going on with the air show next year with or without a jet team,” he says.
The Web site for the air show is www.coastalcarolinaairshow.com/
