I see Linda Lavin’s house is for sale. Is Wilmington losing one of our famous residents?

Amy Hotz

Linda Lavin was busy with her Broadway play. The Tony-award-winning actress and her husband, actor/director Steve Bakunas, are in New York.

But he answered the phone and said they are selling their home, they’re downsizing. But they’re not moving away. They’re going to build a small place out in Castle Hayne.

Lavin – perhaps best-known as the star of TV’s “Alice” – decided to move to the Wilmington area after filming the TV movie “Stolen Memories: Secrets from the Rose Garden” with Mary Tyler Moore, back in 1995.

She and her husband have been involved in local theater productions.
