A spokeswoman for N.C. Attorney General Roy Cooper recommends this Open Government Guide published by Cooper’s office: http:///www.ncdoj.com/Top-Issues/Public-Integrity/Open-Government.aspx
“This guide is a great tool for understanding North Carolina’s Public Records Law. Readers should be able to find out what kind of employee information a state or local government agency must make public upon request,” Jennifer Canada says.
A specific request should be directed to the agency where the employee works, Canada adds.

I wished that everyone would get off this subject. In today’s economy it is tough and I think as a newspaper you should not be slingling garbage at folks. I don’t work for the State or county but I do find it annoying to ready. If I want to know anything about their salaries I can go to the link you provide. Put up some positive news that brings a smile to your face.
