Does the New Hanover County Animal Control department handle calls about snakes?

Merton Vance

No, New Hanover County Animal Control does not respond to calls about snakes.

Its primary goal as an animal control agency is to protect against the spread of rabies, which can only be spread by warm-blooded animals, said Jean McNeil, Animal Control Services Manager for the county.

There are private businesses in the area that handle removal of snakes and other reptiles.
