Why were trees cut down at the corner of Sanders Road and Carolina Beach Road (in Beau Rivage Marketplace)?

A Walgreens is being built on Sanders Road, which made removal of the trees necessary, says New Hanover County Planning Director Chris O’Keefe.

Walgreens must pay for the trees.

“They have been doing their groundwork. They did submit a tree inventory and they have paid fees for the trees they have removed,” O’Keefe says. “They have paid a good deal of fees.”

With the work being done in Wilmington for the traffic signal upgrade when can we expect the traffic cams to come back online so that we can check traffice conditions?

I am delighted that a Walgreens will be located in my neighborhood. I moved into the Monkey Junction area several years ago and frequently shop at Walgreens either at 17th and College or Carolina Beach.
