How often must you register to vote in New Hanover County?

Patrick Gannon

Once a voter registers in New Hanover County,  it’s permanent.

Once an application is received by the New Hanover County Board of Elections, a voter registration card will be sent to the voter verifying his or her address.

Voters who move from one location to another within the county should report a change of address to the board of elections at least 25 days before an election. That should be done in writing, with a signature. Voters can use the form on the back of their voter registration card to update their address or other information.

A new card will be mailed verifying the new information.

More information about voter registration can be found at the Board of Elections Web site.
