Are they going to put a stop light at Lansdowne and College Road?

Ken Little

“The signal for Lansdowne and College will not be placed until a TIP project or a HSIP project becomes available,” says Joe Chance, deputy division traffic engineer for the N.C. Department of Transportation.

TIP is an acronym for the Transportation Improvement Program, and HSIP stands for the Highway Safety Improvement Program. Both TIP and HSIP provide federal funding to supplement state dollars, and generally there is competition throughout the state for the money.
