Why is there a small section of a brick road on the 14th hole of the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course?

Brian Mull

The brickwork in front of the 14th tee at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course is the remnants of a bridge. There used to be a ditch there and the 6-foot by 10-foot area of bricks served as the bridge over the ditch.

The ditch was filled in, but the bricks remained.
