What’s the most expensive house sold in New Hanover County?

According to county real estate records, the most expensive was at 49 Pipers Neck Road, New Hanover County [Map this], on Figure Eight Island. It sold March 4, 2005, for $5.25 million. The asking price was $5.5 million. It’s 6,588 square feet in size and has 4 bedrooms  and 7 baths. It was built in 2001 on a lot of 1.2 acres.

    I’m pretty sure the NHC Tax record show at least one house in Landfall sold for more than this, around $6.45mil about 2 years ago.
