Whatever happened to radio personality Richard Davis?

We contacted Richard Davis at Brown Coat Pub & Theatre to answer this one.

Davis said he was “let go” from WAVE 980 in November of 2008. He calls himself a victim of corporate downsizing.

But he’s been very busy since then. Davis started two non-profits — Guerilla Theater company in August of 2003 and Brown Coat Pub & Theatre, 111 Grace St., in February of 2008.

More recently, Davis has been shopping around a new idea for a radio show. At 980 WAVE, the radio personality hosted a talk show with a liberal angle. Think Rush Limbaugh as a democrat taking national and international issues and discussing them on a local level.

The idea for his new show is similar. Davis calls it a “magazine format”-type show where he will bring in different guests every day to talk about the news.

“We’ll have a discussion and then callers can interact with the guests,” he said.

Davis said he is in talks with WHQR, but no contract has been signed.

UPDATE: Richard Davis is now a senior account executive at the StarNews.

Oct 23, 2009 As always I tuned in to Harvard Jennings broadcast tonight and was pleasantly surprised to hear Richard Davis hosting the show. I like Harvard Jennings, and I like Ronda (when I can listen to it) but, I have always liked Richard Davis the most, he brings such insight to the shows that he hosts. I would love to see him get a spot……….
