Yes. The city has a Future Land Use Plan that was adopted in 2005. It addresses land use in the city through the year 2025.
Wilmington is largely built out, so the plan explores the best ways to use remaining “vacant property pockets,” city spokeswoman Malissa Talbert says.
The plan “points out the best use of remaining land we have left,” she says.
To look at the plan, click on “Departments” on the city Web site home page and go to the Development Services Department page. In the listing in the center of the page, click on Future Land Use Plan. An updated document entitled 05 FLUP Progress Report is on the right side of the page, in the Forms & Documents section.
