Can I get 100-percent recycled paper bags at Harris Teeter as a bagging option?

Ken Little

Harris Teeter spokeswoman Catherine Reuhl says 100 percent recycled paper bags are available to shoppers at all Harris Teeter outlets.

“We currently offer 100 percent recycled, plastic bags and reusable bags. We like to give our customers a choice,” Reuhl says.

According to the grocery chain Web site, www.harristeeter.com, all paper grocery bags are produced from 100 percent recycled paper. By upgrading the paper bags from 35 percent to 100 percent recycled paper, the company estimates that 22,293 trees are saved every year.

Harris Teeter operates nine stores in New Hanover County and one in Brunswick County.
