What is the status of the Carolina Beach Hilton Garden Inn?

It seems like only yesterday — well April 15, 2008 actually — when construction began on the Carolina Beach Hilton Garden Inn.

The anticipated date of completion is March 2010, almost 2 years to the date when the Carolina Beach Town Council approved modifications for a hotel at the north end of the Boardwalk on March 11, 2008. One of the stand-out features of the 209 Carolina Beach Avenue North location is the conference space, which will be able to accommodate a 310-person party. Currently, Wilmington [Map this] hosts two Hilton’s: the Hilton Wilmington Riverside, located downtown on Water Street and the Hilton Garden Inn, located in the Mayfaire Town Center.

So have patience, Carolina Beach, it’s coming your way soon.
